Okay, I will. Promise. It's totally worth it. Man, I wish I had a lab I could just carry in my pocket...

Maybe if Wasabi ever gets around to making that shrink ray.

[Oh. He made himself sad for a minute. Good thing there's a noise indicating his printing job is done, he'll just. Busy himself with that. The band that comes out is still the same length, but wider to accommodate the original size power supply. Not even waiting for it to cool, he slides his chair back to his work desk to start putting it together again. If he can get this, then he doesn't have to worry anymore...

... He almost forgot Hiro was there for a few minutes.]

What were you working on up there, anyway?

[ Oh. Sorry bro. Hiro's not great at reading people, but he knows a shift in the mood when he sees one. He opens his mouth to say something snappy - but the words never make it past his mouth. Instead, he watches his brother's face as he puts his newest power limiter back on. ]

Kind of the same thing as you, I guess. The things for Dean and Gabriel I told you about.

[ First time he's mentioned that second name, though. ]

Gabriel?

[Man, Hiro keeps finding people he's never seen around anywhere before. But he almost has this one together, just need to fix this mechanism on the supply itself so it'll indicate how long it'll last.]

He was wanting something similar, huh?

[ He watches his brother work idly - and he's not above nudging it a bit if he thinks Tadashi's a little off. ]

Yeah. Not a weapon, though. He's got fire powers too and he hates them.

[tadeadshi]

[Even if he doesn't acknowledge it outright, he does appreciate Hiro's adjustments. He holds his breath as he solders the last bits together.]

Noticing that's a common trend. Haven't seen or heard f anyone with it that enjoys it.

Dean seemed okay with his? But he's the only one so far.

[tadeadshi]

That's...

[An odd coincidence. Two guys with the same powers coming to the same tech kid for the same thing. Hm.]

Convenient. I mean, that they knew where to look.

[ Weird, right? Hiro seems to be unfazed though. ]

I think they both saw my post the other day. I mean, I did ask about nullifiers, so ...

[tadeadshi]

[Something he'll keep an eye on, alongside the gps tracker.]

I forgot you posted about that. Long as you think it was a good idea.

[He payses, snapping the last piece into place and takes in a breath.

Moment of truth. Taking the wristband, he wraps ut around and closes the clasp. Where he had felt the parts and pieces humming amiably against his fingers, once the clasp closed the circle, it's suddenly silent.

Tadashi practically grins.]

...I think it works.

[microbrobotics]

Yeah. I do.

[ He brightens considerably at that - he'd totally test it with his own powers if he could. ]

Try summoning fire. Just a little. See if it can get through.

[tadeadshi]

[Tadashi fixed his brother with a look, silently asking, Are you sure? but thinks on it. What had been summoning the fire before now... Fear. Fear in his nightmares, fear his brother would be afraid of him, that he would hurt Hiro. It rolls around in his mind and he can almost feel it surfacing but it stops cold in the pit of his gut and disappears.]

Nothing.

[microbrobotics]

[ He's sure. He might be scared, but he's sure - and more importantly, he still trusts his brother. That trust turns out to be well founded. Hope lights up his features as he looks from Tadashi's hands back to his face. ]

Really? Nothing at all?

[tadeadshi]

Really! I could feel it stop and disappear, it works.

[He smiles broadly, getting up to pick his little brother up in a big hug, laughing. It works and he won't hurt anyone and he can finally sleep as bet one can with recurring nightmares.]

H-hey! Watch it!

[ He's laughing too, though, and putting his arms right back around his brother. God, what a relief. ]

[tadeadshi]

[He gives him one last hug-squeeze before setting him back down. It really is the biggest relief (at least until he knows he can go back and change his future, but pipe dreams). But the relief and hope in his voice is so painfully obvious, mixed in with exhaustion.]

So at the very least, I know we have this one and I can make some duplicates in case anything happens. Oh man, this-- This is great.

[ Good enough for now. Good enough for a while, even. As long as his brother sleeps, Hiro's happy. ]

Yeah. And we can still work on something that's more precise.

[tadeadshi]

Definitely.

C'mon, we need to celebrate or-- Or something.

[Something that is not sleeping, who's sleepy, who needs to sleep not him]

[ And Hiro was tired, but now he's just euphoric. He'll crash later. ]

Pancakes?

Pancakes.

[Guess who gets the most straight forward, unhesitating hair ruffle? This lil broooo. He gets the feeling they'll both crash later. He's also realizing the faintest inkling of a headache he's had for the last two days is gone now with the absence of his techpathy.]

I never did make them the other week, so we're overdue.

[ Much better. He's not even going to make a face this time, he's so pleased not to see his brother flinch any more. ]

Good. I even bought Girl Scout cookies to put in this batch.

[tadeadshi]

[That definitely gets a laugh from him, starting to make his way bavk upstairs.]
